Here's what the design would look like on a shirt!

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This was a class project in which I was tasked with coming up with a symbol and logotype using only an animal. I selected “unicorn” and from there I had to come up with illustrations of the unicorn and turn my illustrations into a logotype for this generic “unicorn company.” I collected about 20 or so reference images of horses and picked my favorite five to draw. Then I moved my drawings into illustrator and made vectorized versions of the drawings. I began making iterations of making logos from these drawings. Simultaneously while iterating upon the logos, I was testing out typefaces to use for the word “unicorn.” Eventually I brought these two aspects together and worked on the logotype. One of the requirements of the project was to include color in some fashion and I felt like adding color to the “co” within “unicorn” was a clever way to emphasize that this is supposed to be a company’s logotype. The logo and typeface I selected were chosen with scalability in mind. I wanted the designs to still be legible even if they were scaled down for things like being printed in the corner of a paper or put on the front of a shirt.
