PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This was a class project in which I was tasked with making a poster for a world issue. The issue I chose was initially movie piracy, but I wanted to put a spin on it in which the movie companies are made out to be the bad guy of the situation. I did not have a super solid idea for how I wanted this idea to come to fruition initially but after talking the idea over with my teacher and peers for a while I came up with the idea of using the iconic 20th Century Fox intro to make people think about what makes people turn to piracy and to think about corporate greed. The purpose it serves is more or less an anti-capitalism poster, or at the very least anti-upper class. I used the same typefaces that were used for the original 20th Century Fox branding, and I feel like I did a good job of the poster still being instantly recognizable for what it is trying to represent. I think the project is successful because it is a very striking and thought provoking poster that demands the viewer to view the cinema industry in a different light.
