PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This was a class project where the goal was to redesign a pre existing mobile app that had UI/UX issues or poor visual identity. I chose to redesign the Steam mobile app because I felt there were serious issues with UX and the app lacked any visual identity despite being owned by a company that I felt had a strong visual identity. I began by making a logic diagram for the UX for the current app and identified where the pain points were, then I redesigned the logic diagram to fix those issues. This was followed by making wireframes for how I wanted to redesign the app. These were turned into digital wireframes in Figma, which were iterated upon and prototyped until the final product was reached. I had peers test my prototyped apps and I took notes on how they interacted with my app and I used those notes to refine my app further. I felt that this redesign was successful because I was able to fix the biggest pain points from the original app, aligned the visual design more with the branding of the company, and made the app format closer to the desktop version of the app which is designed much better than their mobile app.
